Powdered activated carbonIt is made of needle charcoal with high quality wood chips and fruit shells as raw materials. Produced by zinc chloride method, it has developed mesoporous structure, large adsorption capacity, fast filtration and other characteristics, then its strong adsorption function needs to be described from these three aspects:
First,Powdered activated carbonThe pores have an adsorption potential, formed by the gravitational force between the carbon molecules and the adsorbed molecules, and the smaller the pore size, the stronger the adsorption potential.
Second, the theory of molecular motion: all objects are composed of molecules or atoms, molecules (atoms) have gaps between them. Molecules (atoms) is in a never-ending diffuse and irregular state of thermal motion, molecules collide with each other very frequently, in the standard state, the molecules have an interaction force, generally manifested as gravitational force.
Third, the diameter of the collision molecules and the diameter of the pores of the powdered activated carbon should be matched, when the molecular diameter is slightly smaller than the pore diameter, the molecules are difficult to run out after encountering the holes, i.e., they are adsorbed. The number of adsorbed molecules is large, indicating that its adsorption capacity is stronger. Only the pore diameter greater than 0.45nm and less than 2.0nm microporous to adsorb toxic and harmful gases, and powdered activated carbon of these microporous accounted for more than 90% of the total number of holes, so for the adsorption of these toxic and harmful gases, powdered activated carbon is the most desirable effect.
